Biographer Vivien
It's a challenging exercise to write about one's self. Especially in the context of a bio. Vivien was instrumental in not only composing copy but also guiding me through the process of figuring out the stories I wanted to tell. Together we were able to weave both informative and entertaining copy through out the pages of my new company website —a site I've procrastinated on for years. ABOUT THE BIOGRAPHER
- When I lived in Nashville years before I became a professional writer, I would take a microphone and tape recorder around town and interview people. When I first returned to Los Angeles after living in Nashville during the 1990s, I worked first as a personal assistant and then transitioned to my career as a professional writer. I began my career writing content for IATSE and Teamster union newsletters. I interviewed below-the-line Film/TV workers and wrote profile articles for their union newsletters. I later compiled many of those profile features into a book of my own, entitled Making Hollywood Magic: Secrets of Studio Work.
- I am a natural-born biographer. I am inherently investigative, insightful, and sensitively attuned. I have a rare ability to listen deeply and get right to the heart of a story. From a young age, I was fascinated by the stories of others. I recall reading Working by Studs Terkel and feeling a kinship to him.
- Since 1999, I have ghostwritten dozens of books for my clients: Memoirs, autobiographies, hybrid memoir/business books. All of my clients have been extraordinary. I have also authored two books under my own name in which I have profiled notables in the film/TV industry. And I have one spoken-word audio for kids.
